This year has been monumental for British Cycling. Following the introduction of our ‘programme of change’ to modernise the organisation, we announced a groundbreaking partnership with Lloyds – one of the biggest UK commercial sports deals secured in recent years. This transformational partnership enabled us to save the UK’s largest free to attend sporting events – the Tour of Britain men’s and women’s races, delivering the latter in just 125 days. Our major events vision has unlocked a raft of commercial partnership announcements and a strategic deal with global sports and events company, IMG. We started delivery of a new social impact framework to tackle inequalities and transform people’s lives, as well as progressing with our ambitious environmental sustainability strategy. Our riders have shown prowess on the world stage in an incredibly successful Olympic and Paralympic year, and we have been recognised by UK Sport as ”leading” on sports governance.
