“Sport. And More Than Sport” is the brand platform that was launched by the IOC ahead of The Paris Olympic Games 2024. It expresses the multi-dimensionality of the Olympic experience, and everything sport and the Olympic Games bring to people both on and off the field of play. A shining example of this is the IOC Climate Action Awards (CAA). These awards celebrate, highlight, and reward innovative and effective initiatives from the Olympic Community that work to tackle the climate crisis. Athletes, International Federations (IFs), and National Olympic Committees (NOCs) are all invited to apply, and this year’s finalists were announced during the Paris Olympic Games, with winners revealed during UN Climate Week. The IOC, and supporting partner Deloitte, recognise the global role they are able to play in tackling climate change, and use these awards to inspire the wider sporting community to follow suit.
