The Red Roses have had a groundbreaking year, winning two international competitions and becoming the first team – men’s or women’s – to surpass 97 World Ranking points. This followed an unprecedented winning rate of 50 from 51 matches, including winning the last 20 in a row. John Mitchell’s side dominated the Guinness Women’s Six Nations, with a Grand Slam win for a third consecutive time and sixth straight title in April 2024. Successfully retained their WXV1 title in October 2024, with wins over USA, reigning World Champions New Zealand and number 2 side in the world, Canada. Ellie Kildunne has been named World Rugby Women’s 15s Player of the Year with five players joining Kildunne in the World Rugby Women’s 15s Dream Team of the Year. We launched Elev8, a performance leadership programme for elite female coaches on the build-up to Women’s RWC 2025.
