Cole Palmer’s stoppage-time penalty denied former club Manchester City victory in a 4-4 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

City looked to have edged the thriller when Rodri’s shot from the edge of the area touched off Thiago Silva past Chelsea keeper Robert Sanchez with four minutes left.

However, Ruben Dias gave away a late penalty which was converted by Palmer, the player Chelsea bought from City for £40m in the summer.

An action-packed game also saw two goals from Erling Haland, and one from Manuel Akanji, Thiago Silva, Raheem Sterling and Nicolas Jackson.

Manchester City remain top of the Premier League but their lead has been reduced to a point.

Arsenal came from two goals down at half-time to thrash Leicester City 6-2 at King Power Stadium and move up to second in the Women’s Super League table.

Sam Tierney scored Leicester’s first ever league goal against the Gunners in the 36th minute before Janice Cayman doubled Leicester’s lead 54 seconds later.

But after the break Arsenal turned the match on its head with a stunning second-half performance.

Tom Aspinall superbly stopped Sergei Pavlovich in the first round to win the interim heavyweight title at UFC 295 at Madison Square Garden in New York.

The Briton landed two quick left-right combinations to finish the Russian inside 69 seconds.

Aspinall took the fight on 17 days’ notice after an injury to champion Jon Jones forced him off the card.

Britain’s Jack Draper missed out on a first ATP Tour title when he lost in three sets to French second seed Adrian Mannarino in the Sofia Open final.

It brought to an end a nine-match winning streak for the 21-year-old Briton, who was beaten 7-6 (8-6) 2-6 6-3 in the Bulgarian capital.

Earlier this year, the ATP Tour announced it will guarantee players a minimum wage for the first time in a ‘game-changing initiative’.
