Excitement is building ahead of the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 in England, a tournament that will redefine the standard of women’s elite sport. Backed by Ticketmaster Sport, the Official Ticketing Service Provider, a record-breaking 300,000 tickets have already been purchased — double the total from the previous tournament in New Zealand.
This year’s tournament will be the biggest and most ambitious Women’s Rugby World Cup to date, featuring more teams, more venues, and a professional infrastructure unlike any before. From Sunderland to Brighton, host cities are preparing to deliver an unforgettable atmosphere, with every aspect of the fan experience carefully considered.

Raising the Bar for Women’s Rugby
A first highly successful presale in September 2024 launched the tournament campaign. Powered by Ticketmaster Sport’s trusted platform, the presale for the opening match and final was followed by a ballot-based application phase. This ensured equal access and protected tickets from bots and touts.
Throughout the 32-match tournament, fans have enjoyed a smooth and secure digital ticketing experience. This fan-first approach, developed through close collaboration between World Rugby and Ticketmaster Sport, reflects a broader mission: to grow the game’s appeal by making it more accessible and relevant.
The 2025 tournament is expected to be the biggest family-friendly event of the year, with a family of four (two adults and two children aged 15 and under on match day) able to see England’s opening match at the Stadium of Light for just £30. Ticket prices range from £5 to £95, with over 60% priced under £25. Meanwhile, strong early demand for higher-priced tickets — with all premium seats for the semi-finals and final selling out quickly — underscores the tournament’s continued commercial appeal. Children’s pricing was available for every match, including the final, and accessible tickets offered across all fixtures.
Ensuring the tournament was truly within reach for all has been a core priority — from ticket access to venue planning. With 95% of the English population living within a two-hour journey of a match venue, the tournament was designed to be geographically inclusive. To meet the extraordinary demand from early sales, a second-chance ticket window ran from 7–9 May. Fans who were unsuccessful in the initial ballot were invited directly and able to purchase tickets via Ticketmaster Sport’s easy-to-use platform. The mission is loud and clear: creating a transparent and equitable fan experience.

Tickets Back On Sale & What’s Next
With 100 days to go as of 14 May, things are heating up. The trophy will be hitting the road making its way to cities and towns across England. Any remaining tickets will go on sale at tickets.rugbyworldcup.com, with some matches already close to selling out. An official resale platform will open on 24 June, allowing ticket holders to resell tickets they no longer need at face value only — creating a safe, fan-first secondary market for those who wish to attend.
Paul Lemon, Director Ticketing and Marketing at World Rugby, said, “Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 will be a generational moment for the sport. With 300,000 tickets sold 100 days before the opening match, this edition is already breaking all records, doubling the previous attendance record in New Zealand, and promises to be the biggest celebration of women’s rugby ever organised.
“These results are the direct outcome of a ticketing programme designed with fans at heart. It is based on fairness and accessibility, with bold decisions including the availability of children prices at all matches and a free-to-access official resale platform using capped prices to ensure core rugby fans and newcomers alike have the best possible experience.”

Richard Evans, VP of Tournaments at Ticketmaster Sport, said, “This tournament is about more than just rugby — it’s about inspiring the next generation. Ticketmaster is proud to help deliver not only access to the event but an unforgettable experience that reflects the passion and energy of the sport, from Sunderland to the south coast.”
With the final to take place at Twickenham with a potential record-breaking crowd, the stage is set for a landmark moment — the largest attendance at a Women’s rugby match ever held.
And as Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 keeps on smashing expectations, it’s showing the world what’s possible when you combine smart planning, innovative tech, and putting fans first.
