The allplay Tennis Park, which ran throughout the second half of Wimbledon from Wednesday 4th July to Sunday 8th July, was visited by over 10,000 people throughout the week, with a range of initiatives encouraging the take-up and participation of the sport by children and adults of all ages.

The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) appointed brand experience agency Flourish to deliver a five-day festival of tennis on Clapham Common last week.

10,100 visitors took part in activities including LTA Mini Tennis, Cardio Tennis, wheelchair tennis and adult skills sessions.

LTA coaches were also on hand to offer tips and coaching and there was even the chance to find love with ‘tennis speed-dating’.

All the action from Wimbledon was shown on a giant screen, and the event was completely free to attend.

The allplay campaign was launched last year to help people play tennis. A key element is a free website, allplaytennis.com, which has over 10,000 members who use its online resource to find someone to play with and somewhere to play.

Flourish project director Catherine Smee commented: ‘We’re delighted to work with the LTA, helping them to encourage people of all ages and abilities to play tennis whilst showcasing new and engaging ways to get involved in the sport. Despite the weather there has been a wonderful atmosphere at the park all week and people have really engaged with the activity.’
