188bet Signs Liverpool Sponsorship
Online gaming and entertainment company 188BET has added to its growing portfolio of football club partners after signing an agreement to become the official betting partner of Premier League giants Liverpool.
The agreement is the fifth deal that 188BET has signed with a Premier League club in as many months, having signed similar betting partnership agreements with Chelsea FC and Aston Villa FC in August.
188BET also became primary sponsors of Bolton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic earlier this summer, becoming the first and only company to be the shirt sponsor of two football clubs in the Barclays Premier League for the same season.
188BET will work with Liverpool on a number of major initiatives to take the 188BET brand to the club’s extensive global fan base, especially in key markets such as South East Asia. The deal, which comes into effect immediately, will run for an initial three years.
The partnership with 188BET follows the announcement last month that Liverpool FC has agreed a four-year deal, starting in July 2010, for Standard Chartered Bank to become the club’s main sponsor – the largest commercial agreement in Liverpool’s history.
