The average TV market share for England’s World Cup games in the UK was 68% according to a survey by SPORT+MARKT.
The survey showed that the German fans are the most loyal with an average of 82% tuning in.
Whereas the French only attracted an audience of 62% of the TV audience in France during their dismal cup campaign.
England’s second game of the group phase against Algeria attracted a higher percent than the knock-out game against Germany because many English fans chose public viewing for match.?
In Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, the English national team games attracted more than 15m TV viewers – just over 4m watched other matches.
