Motorsports franchises are continuing to expand their race calendars after both
MotoGP and A1 Grand Prix added new events to their seasons in San Marino and
Beijing respectively.

This weekend, A1 Grand Prix becomes the first motorsport series to race in
Beijing after agreeing a deal to have the cars race round a street circuit in
the south of the city in front of a grandstand holding 25,000 fans.

Motorcycling series MotoGP has also extended its season by an extra round
after adding San Marino to the race calendar in 2007.

The new Grand Prix at
San Marino will be hosted by the Misano track close to Rimini on the country’s
Adriatic Coast on 2 September.

The MotoGP series will now run for 18 races starting in Qatar on 10 March.
The British GP is at Donington on 24 June with the season finishing in Valencia
in Spain on 4 November.
