Abema has reached a sub-licensing deal with SPOTV Now to broadcast the upcoming season of the Premier League.
Under terms of the new agreement, announced 21st July, the Japanese streaming platform will show 114 matches from the 2022/23 season, with some reports suggest it will show three games per round.
Equally, Abema’s focus will be on the games in which Japanese players feature. In the 2021/22 season, Takehiro Tomiyasu made 21 appearances for Arsenal and, as such, the company announced that all of the North London club’s games will be broadcast
It is thought a similar sub-licensing agreement with DAZN may be announced in the near future.
