Absolute Radio And Sky Team Up For Anniversary

Absolute Radio has signed a deal with Sky to mark Sky Sports 20th anniversary by creating a bespoke Absolute Radio Breakfast show in front of a live studio audience from the Soccer AM studios in Isleworth.

Sky Sports are the official sponsors of Rock ‘N’ Roll football Live Absolute Radio’s football programme on Saturday afternoons.

The deal was brokered by Absolute Radio and Mediacom and will be managed by tpf.

The outside broadcast and daylong promotion will occur on 20th April with Sky Sports subscription packages for 20 months offered throughout the day as prizes on Absolute Radio. ?

The activity is designed to commemorate how sports content has evolved over the past twenty years and to highlight Sky Sports role in its development by engaging with the audience.

Absolute Radio Rock ‘N’ Roll Football Live presenter Russ Williams will take over from The Absolute Radio Christian O’Connell Breakfast show to host the programme alongside guest presenter and Soccer AM host Helen Chamberlain. ?

?Russ Williams was one half of the original Soccer AM presenter line-up alongside Helen Chamberlain from 1995-1996 and they will reunite on Absolute Radio to celebrate twenty years of Sky Sports. ??

Ocean Colour Scene’s lead singer Simon Fowler and guitarist Steve Cradock will perform an acoustic set on the show playing a selection of tracks from their album Moseley Shoals.  ? ?

A Sky Sports branded micro site will be hosted at absoluteradio.co.uk where listeners will be encouraged to pre-register online for their chance to be part the live studio audience at the Soccer AM studios. ?

Sky also chose Absolute Radio to launch Sky 3D in September last year, which saw the Absolute Radio Christian O’Connell Breakfast show broadcast live from a listeners home in Fleet Surrey.
