Absolute Radio has launched a brand new iAd campaign for season two of its Rock N Roll Football Premier League Football programming and commentary at www.absoluteradio.co.uk/football.
iAd is Apple’s mobile advertising network, reaching millions of iPhone and iPod touch users in their favourite apps.
Starring Absolute Radio presenter and football legend Ian Wright, the iAd creative features provocative banners to entice the audience to engage, as well as elements including a ‘Wrighty’ football quiz, and new design creative including a drummer, goal posts and goal keepers to demonstrate the overall Rock N Roll Football proposition of where ‘music and football collide’.
There is also a listen to live capability for Absolute Radio and Absolute Radio extra streams directly in-app every Saturday throughout the season.
All this activity is coupled with the digital football destination online, including the match day centre and a new feature for this season – exclusive football news reports from the Absolute Radio team.

The first two bursts of the Absolute Radio iAd campaign demonstrated the engagement and targeting iAd delivers compared to other digital & mobile media – time spent in the iAd (TS) peaked at 101.8 seconds, while the average time spent in the iAd is 87 seconds.
Harris research shows that Absolute Radio’s prompted awareness is up 11% since the campaign launched in December.
In addition to this – in the latest audience figures this quarter (RAJAR), Absolute Radio significantly increased in total hours by 37% Q on Q and Absolute Radio increased in reach by over quarter of a million (254,000) which is 18% Q on Q to 1.6 million listeners.
The Absolute Radio Network has achieved a ten year audience high in total hours – up 38% Q on Q. The iAd creative was designed in house at Absolute Radio.
