Absolute Radio has secured commentary rights for UEFA Euro 2012 with Absolute Radio’s Jim Proudfoot commentating live on all England and Republic of Ireland group stage matches from Poland and the Ukraine, as well as two quarter finals, one semi-final and the final.

Absolute Radio’s football coverage will be available on all platforms including, for the first time, on FM in London and the South East, and will combine their live coverage with a daily show from former England International Ian Wright for the duration of the tournament.

Ian Wright’s Rock ‘N’ Roll Football show will start at 5pm every day and will feature special guests, music, and listeners on the phone, along with his regular Saturday co-presenter, comedian Ian Stone.

The matches will be available on 105.8FM in London and the South East as well as 1215AM nationwide, on digital radio, online, mobile and digital TV.

Ian Wright also stars in a new in-house video from the station asking fans, What If? Ahead of England’s campaign at Euro 2012 – check out the film at Sport Industry TV.

Paul Sylvester, Absolute Radio’s head of presentation, said: ‘Absolute Radio broadcasting England & Ireland UEFA Euro 2012 matches across the network with the introduction of FM will take Rock ‘N’ Roll football to new heights this summer.’

‘Wrighty’s been there, he’s done it and he knows what the players will be going through. He’ll have an amazing insight and will give his views in his brilliantly unique way.’

Ian Wright’s Rock ‘N’ Roll Football shows will be co-produced by independent production company USP Content and will run from Friday 8th June to Sunday 1st July 2012.
