adidas and Chelsea FC have continued their ‘it’s blue, what else matters’ campaign after revealing the new away kit for the forthcoming 2013/14 season.

Fresh from the launch of the new home shirt, which saw Chelsea players immersed in blue paint and encouraging fans to purchase the shirt without event seeing it, the away design leads with white as the primary colour, the sixth time a Chelsea away kit has featured this colour scheme.

Check out the teaser video of the home kit launch at Sport Industry TV.

The new strip – released under the tagline ‘It’s not white. It’s blue.’ – is available for pre-order and will go on sale 4th July, retailing at £49.99.

Meanwhile, in the short time since Jose Mourinho announced his return to Chelsea, viagogo, the world’s largest ticket marketplace,  has seen a 307% rise in searches for tickets to see the team play.

Additionally, the site has recorded a record number of registrations for ticket alerts to see Chelsea FC since the Portuguese supremo revealed he is to return to Stamford Bridge.

viagogo spokesperson Steve Roest said: ‘We expected to see a rise in searches for Chelsea FC tickets once it became apparent that Mourinho was coming back to the club, however with over two months before Chelsea are even scheduled to play their first official match of the season, the demand we’ve seen confirms just how popular an appointment Jose is.’

‘Fans from all over the world are clearly looking for ways to catch one of their most successful managers back in action next season.’

The launch rounds off a busy couple of weeks for football fans, which has seen the launch of the new home and away England kit, the Liverpool away kit and Manchester United’s new home strip, while rival’s City revealed their new Nike kit in New York City.
