Adidas has signed a six-year extension to its supply deal with Barclays Premier League side, Sunderland, which will see the FIFA World Cup Official Match Ball supplier continue to provide all technical and performance kit and training wear until 2020.
The global sportswear brand has supplied the Black Cats’ kits for the past two years, and the new contract represents the longest kit deal in the club’s history.
Sunderland’s chief executive, Margaret Byrne, said: ‘Adidas are one of the most iconic sporting brands in the world and our partnership with them has gone from strength to strength in the last two years.’
‘We are looking forward to developing the growing interest in Sunderland, both domestically and internationally, with Adidas, a brand leader in world football.’
The 2014/15 away kits go on sale on Friday, while the new home kits are due for release shortly after.
Sunderland’s Premier League campaign will start away against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday 16th August.
The latest news follows an announcement last week that revealed record sales of £1.6 billion on football products for the brand, with the ‘Brazuca’ match ball selling 14 million times around the world.
