Double Olympic gold medallist Rebecca Adlington OBE has signed a five year deal to become the new face of Slazenger Swim.

As well as becoming the brand’s ambassador, the role will see the former swimmer collaborate with Slazenger on a co-branded range of swimwear, expected to be released in the summer of 2016.

Adlington will work with the brand to create a swim range and it will be designed to suit all swimmers, ranging from beginners to competitive club swimmers.

According to Slazenger, the co-branded range will feature the best fabric technology available, including “breathable and fast-dry fabric that incorporates shape retention technology for maximum freedom of movement”.

Adlington said: “I’m delighted to be working with an iconic British brand like Slazenger. Between us the future looks very exciting and it will start with designing my own swimwear range, an ambition I’ve been keen to fulfil for many years. This, combined with Slazenger’s dedication to get more people swimming, made this partnership a perfect fit.”

Oliver Gray, brand manager, Slazenger, commented: “We’re thrilled to have Becky on board with Slazenger Swim. Her accomplishments for British swimming are unparalleled and her exploits at the 2008 Olympics rightly saw her become a national treasure. We look forward to working closely with her in the coming years and helping her meet her goal of getting more people involved in swimming.”
