Aeroflot has renewed its partnership with Premier League side Manchester United, according to reports.
The Russian airline first partnered in 2013 on a five-year deal, due to expire at the end of the 2017/18 season, marking the club’s first commercial venture in Russia.
First unveiled ahead of the 2013/14 season during David Moyes’ reign, Aeroflot became the ‘official carrier’ of the football club in a global sponsorship that saw the company provide strategic travel advice and charter services to the club.
Vitaliy Savelyev told Russian news agency Tass: “We have recently resigned the contract with Manchester United. It is intended for five years. The agreement will come into force after the prior contract expires.”
According to Tass, Aeroflot’s current deal with United is worth $40m.
As official carrier, Aeroflot will also provide the team with strategic advice on travel for the team and club representatives.
