Russian airline, Aeroflot, celebrated its one-year anniversary as the official carrier of Manchester United with an augmented reality ‘pop-up’ experience at Heathrow Airport.

The airline was joined by former Manchester United player and global ambassador, Bryan Robson, who met fans and discussed the partnership between the two brands.

The activation also gave fans the opportunity to win a range of exclusive prizes ranging from Business Class flights and limited edition club memorabilia.

Robson, who made 345 appearances for the club, said: ‘It has been a real thrill meeting fans and passengers today with Aeroflot. And to mark the anniversary of Manchester United’s global partnership with the airline.’

‘With club having played across the globe over the past 12 months, Aeroflot’s strategic advice on travel arrangements has been invaluable to the club.’

‘Aeroflot’s top class business class service is the perfect example of what players and officials require today, a highly comfortable and reliable experience that helps ensure passengers arrive in the best condition possible.’

Aeroflot became the club’s official carrier last summer in a new global sponsorship.

Dmitry Preobrazhensky, Aeroflot general manager, UK and Ireland, added: ‘Aeroflot has enjoyed a vastly rewarding first year in our global partnership with Manchester United. Our partnership is built on our shared values of teamwork, quality focus, pride in heritage and forward-looking mentality.’

‘The partnership has helped us engage fans and passengers to find out more about Aeroflot’s global offering, provision of shortest route between Europe and Asia and market-leading business class service.’

‘Both Aeroflot and Manchester United look forward to many more years of mutual benefits from our Global partnership and shared goals.’

As Manchester United’s “Official Carrier,” Aeroflot provide strategic advice to the club on travel arrangements for the team and officials. The airline also provides charter services on its newest long-haul Airbus and Boeing airplanes, which feature a state-of-the-art business class experience.
