Alejandro Agag, founder of both Formula E and Extreme E, has joined forces with former McLaren Motorsport Director Rodi Basso to launch a brand new electric boating championship.
Agag and Basso, who will serve as Non-Executive Director and CEO respectively, have partnered with the International Powerboating Assocation (UIM) for the championship and say it will be run in association with Extreme E.
The debut season will take place in some of Extreme E’s remote locations – as well as in standalone host cities – and it is hoped that it will deliver elite racing as well as technological innovation and environmental exposure.
Extreme E, meanwhile, have partnered with Unicef to empower young ‘changemakers’ in Greenland.
A location on Extreme E’s calendar, children across Greenland will be inspired to understand and address climate issues across their environment.
