Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies has teamed up with UK-based agency B-Engaged to launch his first NFT collection, which is set to be released in June 2021.
The collection will feature digital art accompanied by an exclusive real-life experience with the player for purchasers, delivered through a ‘golden ticket’.
Three unique designs will be created by US-based illustrator Jack Perkins, aided by the input of Davies’ audience with a social campaign allowing fans to vote on each aspect of the collections’ designs.
The three winners through a raffle format will then receive the limited edition NFT along with the chance for one ‘golden ticket’ winner to meet Davies and be presented with a signed UEFA Champions League winners shirt.
The collaboration acts as the first campaign following a formal partnership between Davies – and his agency ATG Sports Management – and B-Engaged, with the trio having worked together on a consultancy basis for the last six months.
The NFTs will be hosted and traded on a soon-to-be launched NFT marketplace run by blockchain ecosystem and cryptocurrency exchange platform Binance.
“It’s been crazy to see the way crypto has grown over the years to the point where I feel now it’s changing the game through NFTs and providing another opportunity for genuine engagement with fans,” said Davies.
“Away from football I am always looking into new technological changes to help engage with people across the world, and this is just another layer to my digital presence.
“It gives fans the opportunity to decide what the final piece will look like and to work together with them is so cool and the whole experience is really positive for me. It’s been an honour to work with ATG, B-Engaged, Binance and Jack throughout this whole process, too.”
