In an effort to boost interest of F1 in the US, the sport’s officials have reportedly approved a two-car American team that will be based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
It has been speculated that the team is near signing at least one driver for the team, which would be expected to debut in 2010.
The team has been deemed as a cost-effective measure by F1 specialists, as the majority of F1 technology comes from the US in the first place, such as carbon-fibre chassis, braking systems, computer parts and software.
Although F1 officials have reportedly given their consent for the American team to be formed, only speculation has materialized through the efforts, with the website USF1.com containing only a logo and a contact link.
