Andy Muray has backed two technology start-ups through Seedrs.

The British tennis player has invested undisclosed amounts into GoodBox and ZoomDoc, with each of the organisations work being in the charity and health space.

It’s not the first start-up Murray has backed with Seedrs, having completed an investment with a folding helmet.

Zoomdoc is founded by NHS GP Dr Kenny Livingstone and allows users to instantly book a GP to arrive at any location within an hour time slot. So far, the company has raised £300k on the platform.

Goodbox uses contactless technology helps charities who rely on cash donations. On Seedrs, so far, the start-up has had £1.38m in funding within two weeks.

Kenny Livingstone, founder of ZoomDoc, said: “We are over the moon to have Andy Murray invest in ZoomDoc’s crowdfunding campaign. ZoomDoc is at the beginning of its journey, so to have a frequent early-stage investor and tennis legend like Andy back us is very exciting.”

Andrew O’Brien, co-founder of GoodBox, added: “The GoodBox team are thrilled to welcome Andy Murray as a shareholder. Andy is well known for not just his legendary tennis status, but also the generous dedication of both his time and resources to the charity sector.

“He is a perfect match for a business like ours, and we look forward to continuing our mission to transform the giving landscape.”
