Anthony Ogogo has become the first British boxer since Frank Bruno to sign with Nike. The Olympic medalist is currently undefeated as a professional boxer since he signed with Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions last year.

Ogogo said of the deal: ‘It is an honour for me to sign with Nike and I am very proud to do so. They are the elite sports brand and are the best of the best – which mirrors everything that I hope to achieve in my career. Their products, apparel and training gear is unrivaled and I cannot wait to be wearing the famous Nike swoosh on my shorts every time I step inside of the ring. This is an exciting time for both me and British boxing as a whole and I’m very excited to begin working alongside Nike.’

Dean Baker, head of boxing for Wasserman, the agency that manages Ogogo, said: ‘Anthony is one of Britain’s top prospects and we believe he will go onto to become one of the best Middleweights in the World. We look forward to an exciting relationship with Nike.’

Last year Ogogo extended his partnership with Maximuscle as well as becoming a legacy ambassador for Coca-Cola GB’s partnership with StreetGames.
