STATSports, a GPS performance data company, have signed a new deal with Arsenal FC to enable all players at all levels to use the exact same technology and share data with Arsenal.
The partnership sees STATSports become the official GPS Performance Tracker of Arsenal, enabling them to access performance data from aspiring players from all levels of the game, helping Arsenal track the next generation of talent.
Aspiring players will now be able to review their own data such as max speeds, high-speed running distance, and intensity against the data from players at all levels of the club to help them understand where they need to improve, with individuals who register outstanding data results being referred to Arsenal.
For more than a decade, Arsenal have used STATSports for the men’s, women’s, and academy teams, to maintain and improve player performance.
Arsenal’s current entire first team use STATSports every day, including players such as Bukayo Saka (pictured, left), Emile Smith Rowe (pictured, middle) – whom have both used STATSports since their academy days.
Arsenal’s Academy Manager, Per Mertesacker, said: “We’re really excited by this partnership. STATSports have played a key role in developing the physical performance of our players for more than a decade.”
“The fact aspiring players are now able to benchmark themselves against players at Arsenal by using The STATSports Arsenal FC Edition pod is a big step forward for the club.“
Sean O Connor, Co-Founder of STATSports, added: “We’re delighted to be able to bring this innovation to the market, and as a long-standing client, we’re thrilled that Arsenal are the first to develop this revolutionary concept with us.”
“The potential for the STATSports Arsenal FC Edition is massive, we firmly believe that we can unearth talent that would previously have gone unnoticed.”
