FA Premier League club Arsenal is launching its own television channel, joining
a host of top flight clubs who have developed similar offerings.

The channel, which will operate as a subscription only basis, is hoping to be
up and running by the end of the year, available on all major satellite and
cable platforms.

The planned strategy for the channel will see it broadcast for six hours a
day, five days a week featuring archive footage of games, highlights and new
behind-the-scenes clips of training and interviews.

It will not be allowed to screen live coverage of Premiership games as the
exclusivity for these is covered by the FA Premier League’s TV rights contracts.

The club intend to use a single production house to prepare content all its
media products and services including the TV channel, in-stadium website, the
existing Arsenal TV show, which is distributed to more than 50 countries, and
the club’s paid-for website, 60% of subscribers to which are based overseas.

Chelsea and Manchester United are among a number of clubs who run their own
TV channels already.
