Premier League football club Arsenal has announced the extension of its partnership with adidas.

Under terms of the new agreement, adidas will continue to provide the Gunners with playing and training kits in a new deal that runs until 2030.

Arsenal initially teamed up with adidas at the start of the 2019/20 season, which reunited the two global brands after 25 years apart, in a deal worth a reported £300m over five years.

According to a statement, the extended partnership will have ‘an increased focus on Arsenal Women with enhanced marketing rights that will bring greater global exposure for the team and players.’ This commitment was highlighted earlier in the year by Arsenal’s collaboration with adidas by Stella McCartney which saw the launch of a bespoke travel range for the women’s team.

As part of the new agreement, adidas will also support Arsenal’s sustainability strategy, with the brand aiming to replace its virgin polyester with recycled polyester in adidas products by 2024 wherever possible.

In addition, the partnership sees a focus on the club’s local communities. Earlier this year, the club and the sportwear giant launched No More Red – a long-term initiative developed to address the root causes of youth violence by supporting young people through the creation of safe spaces and active mentorship with trusted role models.

“Since we’ve been reunited, we’ve driven initiatives and investment in our local communities

Arsenal Chief Commercial Officer, Juliet Slot, said, “We’re delighted to agree a new partnership with adidas until 2030. The long-term nature of our extension means there’s a real commitment to build on this brilliant collaboration, with a strong focus on growing women’s football and developing our sustainability strategy.

“Since we’ve been reunited, we’ve driven initiatives and investment in our local communities, and developed exciting and bold product ranges for our players and supporters alike. We’re proud of the progress we’ve made together and we’re excited to take our partnership forward.”

The announcement comes following a summer where both the men’s and women’s teams were hosted at adidas’ global headquarters in Herzogenaurach, Germany for pre-season training camps.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and adidas CEO Kasper Rorsted

Chief Executive Officer at adidas, Kasper Rorsted, added, “The work we have done with Arsenal has broken new ground in football partnerships and both on and off the pitch Arsenal continues to be at the forefront of the sport. We’re truly excited to continue to support both the men’s and women’s teams, delivering the very best for the athlete.

“We believe in helping the local community in London, investing in the causes and issues that matter most to them, and through exciting products and authentic storytelling, we’re looking forward to celebrating the rich and diverse Arsenal fanbase globally in the years ahead.”

The latest extension retains Arsenal to adidas’s extensive portfolio of football partners. This also includes Manchester United, Leeds United, and Leicester City in the Premier League, and European giants Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
