Ahead of this weekend’s North London derby, Arsenal legends Ian Wright and Tony Adams took on Spurs heroes Ledley King and Les Ferdinand in a penalty shoot out in Trafalgar Square to celebrate the launch of Vodafone’s new 4G network.

As part of the activity to highlight the new fast-paced connection, fans could watch the teams go head-to-head to see who could clock the highest speed ahead of this Sunday’s match.

To launch 4G Vodafone has introduced a brand new plan, Vodafone Red 4G-ready, with a choice of either Sky Sports TV or Spotify Premium built in, directly on their devices.

Ian Wright said: ‘It’s time for the North London teams to go head to head for the first time this season. I used to love the London derby days its great to be going against Tottenham again at Trafalgar Square.’

Les Ferdinand commented: ‘Even though I love football, the chance to listen to 20 million songs on my phone is amazing. The problem is I can’t decide between Spotify Premium or Sky Sports TV!’

Guy Laurence, CEO, Vodafone UK added: ‘Today we’ve reached a milestone as we switch on our first 4G signal in London, but this is just the start. We’ll be rolling out 4G in cities across the UK over the coming months and now we’re giving you all the sport or music you could want, 4G finally has a purpose.’

Launching first in London, Vodafone has already announced its Ultrafast 4G network will be available in 12 more cities by the end of the year.
