Arsenal Teams Up With Pop Duo For Kit Launch

Arsenal Football Club has revealed its new away kit for the2012/13 season, and has enlisted the help of pop duo Rizzle Kicks to launch thestrip with a new viral.

The new strip combines a rich purple base with black hoops,and in the viral the Arsenal-supporting duo performing a track from their albumStereo Typical, ‘Demolition Man’, and also features Gunners trio AlexOxlade-Chamberlain, Alex Song and Kieran Gibbs.

The inner back neck graphic takes the form of the Club’smotto, ‘Victoria Concordia Crescit’, the Latin for ‘Victory Through Harmony’,while the outer back neck graphic pays tribute to legendary manager HerbertChapman’s innovative WM formation.

The purple and black hooped socks, bearing one red stripeeach, pay tribute to Chapman’s legacy and his introduction of hooped socks tomake it easier for players to pick each other out on the pitch. 

Speaking about the new kit, midfielder Alex Song said: ‘Ithink the new design is really nice – I’m a guy who likes fashion and when Isaw these colours, I was very happy. This kit is different to last season’s andI’m really excited to wear it.  I might do something with my hair tomatch!’

As well as the striking new look, the kit will also be themost technologically advanced and environmentally friendly to date, thanks toNike’s innovations. Each kit (shirt and shorts) is made using up to thirteenrecycled plastic water bottles, and out of fabric that is up to 23% lighterthan previous designs.
