Asics Kits Out Team Scotland For Glasgow 2014

Commonwealth Games Scotland has announced that Asics will supply Team Scotland’s kit for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, which will feature the host nation’s traditional blue and white as its main colours for athletes, coaches and support staff.

The deal with the Japanese equipment company will cover jackets, caps and polo-shirts.

Team Scotland joins Asics’ roster of national team and federation sponsorships which include the French Athletics Federation and England Netball, as well as a new deal announced with the South African Rugby Union.

The new partnership with the Springboks and their associated national teams was announced on Wednesday, and the six-year deal will see Asics supply kit and apparel throughout a period that covers the Rugby World Cup 2015 in England and the 2019 edition in the birthplace of the brand, Japan.

Jon Doig, the chief executive of CGS and Team Scotland’s chef de mission, said: ‘Team kit is such an important aspect for the athletes and staff particularly at a home games, when Team Scotland will be very much in the spotlight.’ 

‘The look and feel of the kit helps to unite the team together and makes them proud to be representing their country at one of the biggest competitions of their lives.’
