Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula 1 team (AMF1) has secured a new sponsorship agreement with US investment bank Citi.
The new sponsorship will see an expansion of the longstanding relationship between Citi Private Bank’s and two-time Formula world drivers’ champion Fernando Alonso.
AMF1 driver Alonso has had a personal endorsement deal with Citi since 2016, and the relationship will further deepen as the bank links up with his team.
As part of the sponsorship, Citi will be featured on the halo of both AMR23 race cars during the 2023 Formula 1 season.
Citi joins British motor racing team AMF1’s roster, as it is preparing to unveil its new state-of-the-art factory at Silverstone, UK.
Jefferson Slack, AMF1 Managing Director, Commercial and Marketing, said, “We are delighted to begin our partnership with Citi. It’s an exciting new energy for AMF1 and we are glad to welcome Citi onboard our journey as we fight for the front of the F1 grid.
“Citi’s sponsorship is the latest addition to our fantastic portfolio of partners, and we look forward to supporting Citi’s aim of driving deeper engagement within their communities.
“The well-established relationship with Fernando perfectly complements this new sponsorship and we look forward to developing a programme of activity that drives positive change together.”
Jim O’Donnell, Executive Vice Chairman, Client Engagement, Citi, added, “Building on our relationship with Fernando while joining forces with AMF1 is a tremendous opportunity to leverage the global platform of the sport.
“Through this relationship, Citi will continue to reach our clients in new and exciting ways while delivering unique experiences around the world.”
The latest deal follows a flurry of new Formula 1 partnerships in recent weeks as the official car launches begin to take place ahead of the 2023 FIA Formula 1 World Championship.
