Aston Villa has confirmed Adidas as the club’s new kit supplier, in a multi-year deal from the start of the 2024/25 season.
The German sportswear brand will supply all match and training apparel for Villa’s men’s, women’s and academy teams.
Adidas replaces Castore as the club’s official kit partner from next season. The Villans signed a multi-year deal with the Manchester-based company in 2022, but experienced technical issues during the 2023/24 season regarding Castore’s ‘wet-look’ shirts, which received complaints from players.
The new contract is worth £17m annually, according to Football Insider, marking a significant uptick in valuation on the previous Castore deal, which was reportedly worth £4m per season.
The club says further details on its first ever Adidas kits will be revealed in due course. Following the end of the Premier League season on 19th May, Villa offered a glimpse of the team’s home shirt from next season, featuring a new-look crest.
Villa part-owner Nassef Sawiris owns a 6% stake in Adidas, with reports emerging last year that the club had agreed a deal with the sports apparel giant.
Recently, Villa secured qualification for the next season’s UEFA Champions League campaign, marking the club’s return to elite European football after a 41-year hiatus.
Last month, the club revealed a reported £40m shirt sponsorship deal with Betano, which is believed to be the most lucrative in the Birmingham club’s history.
Chris Heck President of Business Operations at Aston Villa, said, “The announcement of the partnership with Adidas, the biggest technical partnership in the club’s history, follows the announcement of our new front-of-shirt partner, Betano, a couple of weeks ago and marks another milestone on the journey to grow our business on the global stage.
“We cannot wait to show the fans the new home shirt for the upcoming season, a season which will see UEFA Champions League football at Villa Park for the first time in the club’s history.”
