A merger between tennis’ ATP and WTA tours could be finalised ‘in the early to mid-way point’ of 2025, according to Front Office Sports (FOS).

The US sports business publication reports that the new joint organisation would be titled ‘Tennis Ventures’, and would oversee media, sponsorship and data operations.

The merger would reportedly not impact areas such as scheduling, prize money, and relations between players and tournaments.

According to FOS, 80% of Tennis Ventures’ revenue would go towards the men’s game once the merger is complete, however this could ‘likely’ become closer to a 75-25 split.

The joint organisation would include ATP Media, the tennis circuit’s media production subsidiary, as well as the Tennis Data Innovations commercial vehicle, and WTA Ventures, the women’s tour’s commercial arm, which launched last year through a strategic partnership with private equity firm CVC Capital Partners.
