Aviva and Premiership Rugby has launched a new schools rugby programme in a bid to broaden interest and participation in the game.
??Aviva has invested £2m into the programme to improve the grass roots level in England.??
The programme will consist of over 15,000 man hours of coaching and reaching more than 36,000 pupils aged 9 -11 years old from 600 primary schools in England over each of the next four seasons.
At the launch of the new programme pupils from both Batheaston Primary School and St Andrew’s Primary School participated in a session as part of the programme with South African international Butch James teaching the youngsters the basics of the game.
?Insurance company Aviva agreed a £20m partnership with Premiership Rugby, replacing Guinness as its title sponsor in July earlier this year.??
