The British & Irish Lions rugby union team have struck sponsorship deals with British Airways and Marks & Spencer for the upcoming tour of South Africa, further adding to their portfolio of commercial partners.
The announcement of the new contracts covering the entirety of the Lions’ programme follows deals with HSBC, which signed up as the principal partner for the Tour, as well as a kit supplier deal with adidas and second-tier contracts with Guinness and First Cape.
With five brands now filling out the sponsorship slots connected with the British & Irish Lions, the sales for the commercial programme for the Tour are now close to complete.
Sports marketing firm Essentially Group have been handling the sponsorship sales process for the Lions tour of South Africa.
The Lions tour begins on 30th May running through to 4th July and including 3 Test matches between the Lions and South Africa.
