Into Sport Group has revealed that Badminton England has agreed terms to use Performance – the athlete and programme management platform – on an initial three year deal.
Performance, delivered as Software as a Service (SaaS), allows sports organisations to securely manage programmes, whilst providing a hub for athletes, coaches and support staff to record and analyse data from training and competitions.
The agreement marks Into Sport Group’s largest deployment to date, with 1500 athletes, coaches and support staff set to be using the product by the end of 2012.
Badminton England will be the first National Governing Body to implement Performance throughout their development and performance pathway, from their developing talent through to Podium athletes who have the potential to deliver medals at the highest level.
The service will replace Badminton England’s previous system for tracking their athletes, which was mainly spreadsheet based, and bring everything into a secure online environment where information is easily available to those that need it.
Jens Grill, performance director for Badminton England, said: ‘This agreement marks a big step forward for our programme. Performance will allow us to refine all of our current processes and provide us with a vastly improved way of capturing and analysing data. It will also enable athletes and coaches to get detailed insight into progress made in training and competitions.’
‘A system like this is a key component for the smooth running of our programme, and will lay the foundations for future success at Glasgow 2014, Rio 2016 and beyond.’
Colin Miles, founder and managing director of Into Sport Group, added: ‘We are very pleased to announce this exciting new partnership, in what looks set to be the most Company’s most exciting year to date, and the most exciting year of sport the UK has seen for decades. This partnership will deliver performance improvements and competitive advantage for Badminton England across the breadth of their talent and world class programmes.’
‘We designed Performance to improve collaboration across the entire performance team by centralising communications, schedules and key information that the team needs to share. It’s also the hub of training and performance data, providing opportunities to analyse and gain insights in ways that have just not been possible before.’
