Barclays has struck a deal with AEG Europe to become the official retail bank of The O2 arena in London that is set to host a number of high profile sports events.??
The partnership will begin on January 2nd 2011 and will last initially for three years and the deal sees Barclays Corporate also manage AEG’s corporate banking activity in the UK.??
Barclays is currently the headline sponsor of the ATP World Tour Finals that takes place for the second time in the arena in November.??
The venue is also set to play host to the first ever NBA regular season games outside the US when the Toronto Raptors face the New Jersey Nets in back-to back games on 4th and 5th March at the O2 Arena.??
The O2 has hosted NBA pre-season exhibition games in October for the past three years and all have been sell-outs. ??
Before this season starts the Los Angeles Lakers will face the Minnesota Timberwolves at the O2 Arena in London on 4th October as part of the European Tour.
