Barcelona have revealed that the logo for Ed Sheeran’s new album, Play, will feature on the club’s shirts for the upcoming El Clásico, as part of their partnership with Spotify.
The special jersey will be worn by the men’s team in their LaLiga match against Real Madrid and by the women’s team for their Finetwork Liga F Clásico fixture. The collaboration is part of the strategic partnership between the club and the audio streaming platform, which aims to bring football and music together.
This activation follows previous shirt takeovers featuring artists such as Drake and ROSALÍA. In addition to the matchday shirts, the logo will also appear on the men’s and women’s pre-match warm-up kits. Spotify has also launched a special Barça ‘Matchday’ playlist on the platform, featuring songs from the British artist.

Juli Guiu, Vice President of Marketing Area at FC Barcelona, said, “We are very happy to be celebrating the first year of our strategic alliance with Spotify in this way. Once again, we are surprising the world of sport by putting our Clásico jersey in the hands of a world famous artist like Ed Sheeran, one of the most-loved musicians and songwriters of all time. Music and football start a new chapter together, and we are looking forward to seeing what the future has in store for us.”
Marc Hazan, VP Partnerships, Spotify, said, “The Clásico is one of the biggest moments of the season and we’re excited to build on our successful artist jersey swaps. To be able to feature the logo of an iconic artist like Ed Sheeran on the iconic Barça shirt is a special moment for us and for him. He is a huge football fan and we hope the players and fans enjoy his music on the Matchday playlist and his logo on the pitch.”
