BBC Radio Five Live has extended its contract with USP Content for another year
with the production house to continue to provide F1 commentary and reporting for
the national news and sport network and other BBC outlets.
The F1 production work is one of the biggest independent contracts offered by
BBC Radio with the account hotly contested by 19 companies last year.
USP Content’s coverage will again be led by commentator David Croft while,
after a successful debut season, Holly Samos will once again report from the pit
lane and Maurice Hamilton from The Observer continues to offer his experience as
race summariser.
With Ferrari star Michael Schumacher retiring and world champion Fernando
Alonso moving from Renault to McLaren, hopes are high that the 2007 season will
produce more excitement and consequently better listener ratings than the last
few years.
