The BBC has announced that it will screen four England T20 matches this summer.
Two men’s and two women’s T20 games will include the mens’ second T20 against Sri Lanka on 24th June and the second T20 against Pakistan on 18th July. The two women’s games will take place later in the summer, with live coverage of the third England v India T20 in July, and the opening England v New Zealand T20 on 1st September.
The live matches will complement the broadcaster’s coverage of live cricket, which will see 19 matches in the inaugural season of The Hundred screened on the free-to-air broadcaster’s platforms, including the very first match of the new format, between Oval Invincibles and Manchester Originals.
Barbara Slater, Director of Sport, BBC, said: “We’re thrilled to bring a wealth of top class domestic and international cricket across BBC TV, radio and online to the nation this summer.
“With a mix of new cricket competition The Hundred along with Test cricket, T20s and ODIs we will deliver all of the twists and turns of the cricket season and bring fans straight to the heart of the action.”
In addition to the live coverage, 2009 World Cup winner Isa Guha will present a BBC Test cricket highlights show from 2nd June, which will be screened on BBC Two at 7pm on matchdays, with highlights of England’s two-match Test series against New Zealand, followed the men’s England’s Test series against India starting in August.
