BBC To Show Re-run Of Calzaghe Win

Terrestrial broadcaster the BBC is taking advantage of the wealth of interest in
Joe Calzaghe’s fight against Mikkel Kessler at the weekend by replaying the
whole of the bout this Saturday lunchtime.

Calzaghe’s victory on points, originally screened on pay-TV network Setanta
last Saturday, will be re-shown in full this Saturday on BBC One at 13:10.

The fight saw Calzaghe stretch his unbeaten record to 44 fights against
Kessler, who lost his treasured unblemished record at the Millennium Stadium.

In doing so Calzaghe unified the super-middleweight division by adding
Kessler’s WBA and WBC belts to the WBO crown he has held over 10 years and 21
defences.
