The sixth season of Formula E will return to the BBC, with every race available online and two races shown live on terrestrial channels.

The free-to-air broadcaster will show both the Marrakesh E-Prix in February and the Rome E-Prix on 4th April on a network TV channel, with all of the other ten races streamed on the BBC Sport website as well as on iPlayer. Formula E also says select races will be available on the BBC Red Button service.

The motorsport series made its BBC TV debut in March, with the Hong Kong E-Prix attracting over 500,000 viewers across all linear and digital platforms, despite an early-morning start for UK viewers.

Jerome Hiquet, Chief Marketing Officer at Formula E, said: “We are extremely pleased to be back on the BBC for yet another exciting year of electric racing, with more races selected to be shown live on network channels. Expanding our broadcast partnership and offering different ways to watch Formula E on the BBC helps bring British fans closer to the sport than ever before.

“We want the ABB FIA Formula E Championship to be accessible to the widest possible audience and with five British drivers on the grid, Formula E fans in the UK will need to choose who they are getting behind when racing returns to London in July next summer.”

The sixth season of Formula E will see drivers race across 12 cities in five continents. The first race will take place in Saudi Arabia in late November, with the finale set for London in July 2020.
