Guinness Premiership rugby will be shown on the BBC after the broadcaster
finalised a highlights package deal for the remainder of the 2006/07 season.

The highlights coverage begins with immediate effect with highlights of Sale
Sharks v Gloucester Rugby to be shown at lunchtime on 7 January on BBC2.

The first show will be presented by Craig Doyle, who will be joined by former
England international and BBC rugby pundit Brian Moore.

The deal marks the first time a highlights package for Guinness Premiership
rugby has been struck since the days of the BBC’s Rugby Special over three years
ago.

Sky currently holds the live TV rights to domestic rugby’s top-flight league.

The addition of Guinness Premiership highlights bolsters BBC’s rugby union
portfolio which includes live coverage of the Six Nations and autumn
internationals.
