The BBC has struck a one-off live TV rights deal to screen the Milan derby between Serie A teams AC Milan and Inter, taking advantage of the increase in interest in the game following David Beckham’s move to the former club.

The league game will be shown live on BBC3 on Sunday, 15th February kicking off at 19.30pm UK time.

Beckham has been a success at AC Milan since his loan move from US team LA Galaxy at the start of the year, scoring twice in his first four games.

His performances have also led to a recall to the England national team where he is set to equal the record for the number of caps at international level.

Speculation surrounds Beckham’s future with AC Milan with the Italian club having made a bid to LA Galaxy to make the move permanent despite the latter’s insistence that the former England captain return to California in March in time for the start of the new Major League Soccer season.
