The British Basketball League (BBL) and Women’s BBL have renewed their partnership with Italian sportwear brand Kappa.

The deal follows the BBL’s recent organisation-wide rebrand, which will see the latest Kappa kits feature the league’s new logo for the first time.

For the first time, the logo will be the symbol for both the men’s and women’s leagues. There are also new logos for all competitions that sit within both; also appearing across the new Kappa sportswear.

Richard Frost, Marketing Director of Advantage Brands – the holder of the Kappa Brand in the UK – commented, “As we gear up for the next chapter, we’re more excited than ever to kit out every league club with a uniform that all teams can be proud of.  Our bond with British Basketball is as strong as ever, as we continue to deliver exceptional kits and benchwear to all those who choose to play the game with us.”

Mark Ward, Brand Director of Kappa UK, said, “The collaboration embodies our dedication to supporting and elevating British Basketball. We are beyond excited to play an instrumental role in what promises to be a groundbreaking season.”

Director of Team Services, Natasha Riall, added, “Our renewed partnership with Kappa has enabled the league’s clubs to create and produce dynamic styles for the 2023/24 season and I hope the kit empowers unbeatable performances on court.”

The latest partnership highlights a positive period for British basketball. Sky Sports recently committed to showing 40 league games during the 2023-24 season; led by a new broadcast team headed up by Jeanette Kwakye MBE and will feature former GB and London Lions star Ovie Soko as lead analyst.
