After receiving criticism from FIFA about not using its football stars to the fullest potential, the England 2018 World Cup bid will now be joined by David Beckham at the draw in South Africa in December.
Recently, England’s bid came under pressure after FIFA vice-president Jack Warner and Danny Jordaan, who led South Africa’s successful 2010 campaign, criticised its efforts.

Now, the LA Galaxy player will head to Cape Town for the 2010 draw, showing a boost of support for the England bid.
Beckham had already given his support to the bid, along with Wayne Rooney and former internationals Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker. But Beckham’s trip to South Africa signals a greater involvement from the former Manchester United
Beckham was a high-profile figure in London’s successful 2012 Olympic bid and now claims he will lend serious support to the 2018 process, saying he would fly all over the world if it would help land the World Cup in England.
