Beko Agrees Sky Sports Partnership

Beko has signed a new multi-platform media partnership with Sky Sports, designed to support the home appliance brand’s four year global deal with FC Barcelona.

The sponsorship will consist of TV advertising, digital advertising, competition and dedicated Beko hub on Sky Sports, ahead of the premier of its brand new television advert at half-time break of the ‘El Clasico’ – between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid – on Sunday. The game is reportedly expected to attract 500 million international viewers.

Beko has also launched a nationwide competition in association with Sky Sports to offer a fan a VIP trip for them and a friend to watch the first ‘El Clasico’ match of next season, run via a Beko branded hub on the Sky Sports website.

Teresa Arbuckle, managing director of Beko plc UK and Ireland, commented: “Football has been a core part of Beko’s marketing strategy and this new partnership with Sky Sports is sure to build awareness of our Premium partnership with FC Barcelona. El Classico is a hugely popular fixture with UK football fans and we are confident that our latest activity will drive desirability of the Beko brand amongst our target consumer.”

Earlier this month Beko launched the Beko Global Fan Wave, a global campaign allowing fans to upload a video of themselves taking part in a Mexican wave. At least 100 of the best clips will be shown at the Camp Nou stadium throughout March and April, with many also aired at ‘El Clasico’ on 22nd March.
