STH Live has appointed Rugby World Cup winner Ben Kay MBE as the latest ambassador for its Rugby World Cup 2019 official hospitality programme.

The UK sales division of Sports Travel and Hospitality (STH) Group, who delivered hospitality programmes at the Rugby World Cup 2007, 2011 and 2015, are once again the global hospitality sales agent for official hospitality at Rugby World Cup 2019, taking place in Japan next year.

Ben Kay will act as the brand ambassador for the promotion of the Rugby World Cup 2019 programme in the UK and will make a number of public and media appearances representing STH Live in the build-up to next year’s tournament.

On his appointment, Ben Kay said: “The official hospitality offering at Rugby World Cup is second-to-none and is an experience rugby fans from all over the world are desperate to be a part of. Combined with the fact the tournament is happening in Japan, which is a destination on many people’s bucket list, it’s going to be even more special.

“Having worked with STH Live previously I didn’t hesitate when they approached me about becoming the official ambassador for the programme. It’s a great honour to educate fans and companies looking to go to Rugby World Cup about what an exceptional experience awaits them.”

Simon Jefford, STH Live CEO, added: “Ben Kay is a World Cup winner and was the only player to be on the pitch for every minute of England’s 2007 campaign. More than anyone else, he understands what an incredible event Rugby World Cup is and I’m delighted that he has chosen to align himself with the official hospitality programme.”

In September 2019, Rugby World Cup will head to Asia for the first time, with 20 nations playing 48 matches across six weeks at 12 venues across Japan, from Sapporo in the North to Kumamoto in the South.
