Betfair Hires Threepipe For Turbo Tennis

Online betting exchange Betfair has appointed sports marketing agency Threepipe
Communications to leverage its title sponsorship of the Turbo Tennis event – a
new format for the sport designed to increase entertainment for spectators.

Threepipe has been hired by Betfair to handle all PR and promotion around the
brand’s sponsorship of Turbo Tennis.

The inaugural Turbo Tennis event will feature Andy Murray, Tim Henman, James
Blake, Goran Ivanisevic and other top players competing for a $100,000 prize in
a new tennis format with the emphasis on fast-paced action, fun and crowd
interaction. 

The tournament takes place at The O2 Arena on 15th September and has been
described as tennis’ version of Twenty20 cricket. Deuces, lets and never-ending
games have been despatched in favour of ‘sudden death’ points, crowd involvement
and games lasting exactly 30 minutes. 

Threepipe will focus on driving awareness of the event and Betfair’s
sponsorship through media relations, promotions and brand experience events,
strengthening Betfair’s positioning as an innovator in sport.
