Betway Agrees Premier League Darts Deal

The Professional Darts Corporation has signed Betway as the title sponsor of Premier League Darts for 2014, with the online sports betting brand set to put its name to the series after completing its first sports sponsorship deal. 

Financial terms were not released for the competition, which consists of 16 events across the UK and Ireland from today (6th February) through to 22nd May.

Bob Dutnall, the Betway executive director, said of the deal: ‘We are delighted to announce the sponsorship of the 2014 Premier League Darts tournament. This sporting event, which has international appeal, has become a top event in the darts sporting calendar. The sponsorship adds to our brand in online sports betting where we are building a leading position.’

Barry Hearn, the chairman of the PDC, added: ‘This will be the biggest ever Premier League Darts season, with 100,000 fans set to see the world’s best ten players over the next four months, and with live worldwide television coverage the tournament will take the Betway brand worldwide.’

The Betway Premier League Darts season, shown live on Sky Sports, involves the world’s top players competing for a total of £7 million in prize money.
