Birmingham 2022 To Present More Medals To Women Than Men

The Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games will be the first major multi-sport event to award more medals to women than to men.

Unveiling the medal programme, organisers have confirmed that there will be 136 medals on offer to women, with 134 up for grabs in men’s competitions.

To mark the milestone, a new Birmingham 2022 film looked back at some of the greatest achievements of female athletes throughout the history of the Games.
